Steel complex to offer 1800 new jobs
The new steel complex in Bahrain will create about 1800 jobs in the market, it has been reported.
The project, located at the Salman Industrial City at Hidd, will turn Bahrain into a steel powerhouse to reckon within the Middle East, said Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Economic Development Board Chairman.
The landmark national achievement is the result of economic and industrial renaissance, led by His Majesty King Hamad, the Crown Prince said, adding that the development aims to diversify the sources of income, while also opening doors for skilled Bahrainis to grab their opportunities and enjoy excellent salaries. Among the jobs so-created, more than half will be reserved for Bahrainis, said Dr. Hassan Fakhro, Industry and Commerce Minister.
Bahrain is a mature well-established business hub with excellent financial institutions in the entire MENA region, and the benefits of these projects are not only significant for Bahrain, but the entire region.
The facility is hoped to offer employment to population of 1800, towards its completion in early 2013, making it one of the largest employers in Bahrain.
