Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix set to add 3000 new jobs in Bahrain
The Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix is likely to create nearly 3000 temporary jobs this year. This is, apart from several hundreds of other job opportunities coming up from other events held at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) all through the year, points out Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Chief Executive Officer of BIC.
During the weekly meeting of Rotary Club of Salmaniya at the Gulf Hotel, Al Khalifa, mentioned that with the Formula One race, BIC remains busy all through the year, with several events lined up. A total of 200 events have already been scheduled for this year. The world-class amenities are capable of playing host to both community and corporate events, apart from small and large concerts that can benefit from the facilities.
According to Sheikh Salman, the long-term F1 is an event that would generate huge returns for Bahrain, whether in terms of employment opportunities or for business purposes. It is also hoped to generate focus on Bahrain, and bring to the forefront the renowned hospitality and friendliness in Bahrain.
He revealed that during the F1 event, the hotels had reported 100 percent occupancy rates, while the sponsor of the event, Gulf Air had benefitted as atleast 50% of overseas visitors used the airline for travel purposes.
Bahrain had already generated interest among motor racing fans and teams. Nearly 300 to 500mn audience get to watch the race across the world, Sheikh Salman pointed out.
