Art BAB 2018 boosts Bahrain as regional arts & education hub

The third edition of Bahrain international art fair, Art Bahrain Across Borders (Art BAB 2018) was unveiled yesterday by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Held under the patronage of HRH Prince Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of HM Kin Hamad and President of Supreme Council for Women (SCW), the Art BAB 2018 will remain open from 14th to 18th March 2018, hosting 15 galleries and 13 independent artists from about 11 countries.

The Crown Prince, attending the fair, mentioned that there has been vast development in the arts and cultural sector under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and he emphasized on the importance of arts in Bahrainís history and cultural heritage.

The Crown Prince hailed the President of the SCW for her constant support towards Art BAB and appreciated the organizers of the exhibition for their hard work.

Art BAB 2018 is a great platform for showcasing Bahraini artistic talent, with 35 local artists and more than 100 artworks being displayed, along with the artistic talents across the globe, including various organisations.

Eminent international participants include the Samara Art Gallery from India, Alon Zakhaim Art from UK, Teshk Art Gallery from Ukraine, Galerie Bruno Massa from USA, Italian artistic collective Antonello Ghezzi and more.

Art BAB marks a major milestone with its efforts to strengthen Bahrainís position as a lead in regional arts and education, while also stimulating the investment and economic activity in the arts and cultural sector.
