New Private Aviation Terminal to come up in Bahrain

The Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) building of Bahrain which was once the main airport in Bahrain, would soon be transformed into private aviation terminal, catering to VIPs and business leaders, the Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has announced.

The new state-of-the-art facility, expected to be ready in 2020, will offer several services that cater to the needs of private jet owners, and users travelling through Bahrain International Airport.

A deal to this effect has been made to redesign and renovate the 4000 sqm CAA building on the first day of Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS) 2018, which was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the show concluding on 16th November at Sakhir Air Base.

The Civil Aviation Building is a major landmark in Bahrainís rich aviation history. With this renovation, BAC aims to ensure that it retains its traditional qualities, while also transforming it into a private aviation terminal that matches the latest international standards, thereby elevating the aviation sector of the Kingdom in line with Bahrain Vision 2030.

The project forms part of the Ministryís plan to offer services to private jet owners through Bahrain International Airport, particularly, given the impressive growth rate of the sector in the Middle East. It also forms part of comprehensive strategy to improve the infrastructure of BIA and one of the main components of Airport Modernisation Programme is expected to be ready by third quarter of 2019.
