FlyDubai - Bahrain-Dubai flight successfully launched
Bahrain is the tenth destination for low-cost carrier Flydubai as flight FZ015 from Dubai landed at Bahrain International Airport.
The inaugural flight follows the delivery of sixth aircraft to flydubai, less than a month after the Dubai Airshow, when financing and logistics deals worth about $200mn were signed.
The Assistant Under-Secretary for Civil Aviation Affairs, Ahmed Nemat Ali, said that the new service is another good way for Bahrain to showcase the country.
Being a centre for tourism and business, there is a steady increase in number of visitors entering Bahrain, with many from the UAE. Flydubai offers service that complements that provided by existing carriers operating on the Dubai-Bahrain route.
Bahrain is the main hub for intra-GCC trade. For several businesses, the country represents considerable opportunities and with Flydubai’s new service, it will have several options to visit and assess these opportunities.
Dubai is one of the most popular destinations for Bahraini travelers, irrespective of whether it is for business or pleasure. Last year, Bahrain offered the third highest number of tourists visiting Dubai, following Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, during the Dubai Shopping Festival, which begins next month.
The twice-a-day flights to Dubai by the airline, takes off from Bahrain International Airport at 8.15am and 9.05pm and arrives at 10:25am and 11:15pm local time respectively.
The flights FZ015 and FZ021 leave Dubai International Airport Terminal 2 at 7.15am and 8.05pm, arriving Bahrain at 7.30am and 8.20pm local time respectively. The one-way flight prices start from BD23.
