BD100mn scheme for state-of-the-art education center
A BD100mn scheme is underway to turn the Bahrain Polytechnic into a modern education center for leaders of tomorrow, it has been announced.
The ten-year development, involves taking over and re-building the entire Bahrain University Campus at Isa Town, so as to cater to thousands of more students.
This is supported by H.R.H. Prince Salman bin Hamad Ali Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Economic Development Board Chairman, under the master-plan, Vision 2030, aimed for the country’s future.
The Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Polytechnic, John Scott, when speaking to the media, said that the expansion is vital to upkeep the remarkable growth of the institution, ever-since its opening in September 2008.
A student growth by 5000 to 7000 in numbers is expected over the next decade, and land is already at a premium, said Scott, when speaking at a Press Conference.
The Crown Prince and Economic Development Board Chairman, H.R.H. Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has always desired that Bahrain Polytechnic be converted to a state-of-the-art institution, and therefore, this is about the educational philosophy, as much as the design, Scott said.
The institution aims to educate the young emerging Bahrainis to be the future leaders of this nation.
