Bahrain launches feasibility study on establishing Economic City
Bahrain has launched a study on feasibility of establishing an Economic City, which would be a specialized location for businesses.
Plan for such an initiative was revealed by Dr. Hassan Fakhro, the Industry and Commerce Minister, during a business symposium at Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as part of the ongoing "America Week".
Dr. Fakhro agreed that last year was a difficult phase for business sector in Bahrain, particularly, for the wholesale, retail and tourism sector.
However, Bahrain is now back on track, with rising hotel occupancy rates, and there is increased confidence about regaining the economic momentum in 2012.
"We look forward to working closely with the US to expand our relations," the Minister said.
